Hey there folks,
Some of you may have been following my recent post about requesting a notetaker trade... However all that is going out the window, thanks to my most recent crisis. My MacBook had a tragic run-in with an ice cube which, not having been detected for over four hours, melted all over my machine and killed it. As a result, I am now being forced to sell all my assistive tech to pay for a new one.
To that end, I have here a Braille Sense Plus QWERTY in great condition, which I want to sell for $1500 if possible. The Sense will come with a carrying case, USB cable, charger, and accompanying CD containing drivers and manuals. I also have a Refreshabraille 18, a tiny little Braille display with eighteen sells that can be paired with an IPhone over bluetooth, or connected to a Mac or PC with USB or bluetooth. Asking price for this little baby is $800, though I'm willing to negotiate the price to a reasonable extent.
PayPal is the best method of paying, though I will accept checks too if I must. I really need these machines to go as soon as possible, so I can't be too choosy. Shipping is on me. The one thing I will insist on, however, is that I can only sell to US buyers only. Too much hastle involved with selling internationally.
If you're interested in any of these two offers, please reply here, or email me at berberi.albano66@gmail.com. Thanks for looking.
Best, Albano.
I should reiterate here that I really am open to negotiating prices for these devices. If you want any of these machines, feel free to make an offer other than what I requested above. I just might listen.
If I had the money, you'd have a buyer. However, I'll just hungrily wish.
Blessings,
Sarah
I would love to buy it from you, but I can't do it right now. I'm actually going to see if I can work a deal with trying to purchase my own braille sense because my Apex is doing things that I don't like and I've only had it a year and a half.
You leave ice cubes on and near your devices. I don't think I'd buy yours.
lol, if I could, I would by a braille sense. But, since I can't... :(
It was just a simple accident that could happen to anyone. Some people are too lazy so they work near their computer maybe waiting for new mail or having to do a research paper. But, sometimes, we bring like, soda or something near it and forget sometimes that we leave stuff. Understandable. :)

Yes, I routinely leave ice cubes on my devices. Helps cool them down, don't you know. Come on... It was a one in a thousand accident. No need to be rude.
Yeah, true. why be rude about it? I know someone who flippin spilled coffee on her phone. next day, her mother wanted to smack her. :d
Oh, for heaven's sake. *laugh* I was mildly amused by the ice cube remark, rudeness wasn't intended. (My apology, for omitting a smilie, or some such thing.) Certainly, accidents happen.
Good luck finding a buyer for your device.
So, in following current trends on Blind Bargains for such devices, and also in an attempt to raise interest in mine, I'm reducing the asking price for the Braille Sense Plus to $1000, and that of the Refreshabraille18 to $500. Feel free to contact me if you're in need of any of these and the price seems more affordable to you.
What applications are on the Braille Sense and does it have GPS and Daisy player?
The Sense does have GPS, and can definitely play Daisy files. It's got a file manager, word processor, document reader, Email, Media player, FM radio, Daisy player, organizer, Web Browser, Quick Web Browser, Google Search, RSS Reader, Twitter, Facebook, Google Talk, dictionary, Google Maps, Dropbox, Bookshare, NLS Bard, a few very basic games, a scientific calculator, a calendar, an alarm, and a stopwatch. I may have overlooked a couple, but this should give you an idea at least.
Just so you know, I have a second-hand device with BARD on it, and I have to reassign it to my account. It's part of the legal agreement, I think.
Blessings,
Sarah
And remember, Hims updates are all free and they h have added support for things like youtube, facebook, twitter etc.
but keep in mind that not all websites will work as the web engine they use is older as the sense line still runs on windows CE. however they are milking the OS and getting out of it as much as they can. If you have to have a note Taker, I think the hims. inc products are the best one to buy.
will you please, please please ship one of those devices to Germany? I'd buy the Braille sense
All I have is a BrailleNote Apex that I want to trade. No one seems all that interested. If you will not accept this, I wish you luck in selling your devices.
Nathan.
accept what exactly?
Gingy... since Locutus hasn't been able to sell his BrailleSense Plus, Hardyboy is hoping
that Locutus will accept his BrailleNote Apex in exchange for Locutus' BrailleSense. If
Locutus won't accept the trade, then Hardyboy wishes Locutus luck in selling the
BrailleSense.
Perfect translation. Thanks.
well, you must be a lil more flexible locutus when you want to sell things. you needn't exclude People outside the us.
Hi ladies and gentlemen,
A bit of an update here. First, the Braille Sense Plus has been sold. Apologies to anybody that was still hoping to get it. Now I just have the Refreshabraille18, selling for $500.
As far as my limitation to US customers only... This is due to money conversions and increased shipping charges for international shipments. From what other sellers who have tried selling outside the US have told me, it's rather a hastle, and one which I try to avoid if possible. I know this somewhat limits my options, and apologies to anyone outside the US that might want to buy something I put up here... Alas, I'm a very poor and really busy college student that tries to keep things as simple as possible, you know?
All the best,
Albano.
